Experience the Beauty of Croatia with the Nikola Tesla EV Rally

Imagine driving along turquoise waters through rolling hills, past medieval towns, and over modern bridges. That’s what participants of the Nikola Tesla EV Rally Croatia 2023 will enjoy during this luxurious event for electric vehicles. Dubbed the “Most Beautiful Rally in the World,” this 10th-anniversary rally offers a spectacular journey through Croatia’s stunning landscapes and rich culinary traditions.

Exploring Istria by Electric Car

Kicking off on May 20th, the rally begins at the harbor of Rovinj, one of Istria’s picturesque seaside villages. Participants will drive through Istria’s hilly hinterland, stopping for olive oil and wine tastings, and enjoying lunch with vineyard views.

On the second day, drivers will test their skills on a private airport strip in Vrsar before heading to central Istria. They’ll pass through Groznjan, an artist hilltown, and Buzet, known for truffles, all set against a backdrop that looks like Tuscany. After a day of driving, participants relax at a five-star hotel and savor local dishes.

Scenic Dalmatian Coast Drive

The rally then shifts to the Dalmatian coast. Named after Nikola Tesla, who was born in Smiljan, Croatia, the event isn’t exclusive to Tesla cars; any EV can join. Participants will test their vehicle’s range along the “Green Electric Highway,” with charging stations at noteworthy stops. The day wraps up at a four-star hotel near Split, a UNESCO World Heritage city.

The adventure continues along the dramatic coastline, crossing a new bridge to Pelješac island and exploring the Blue Lake and Red Lake sinkholes before returning to Split. On the fifth day, drivers head north to the fortified island town of Trogir, another UNESCO World Heritage site, ending the day at a spa hotel in Zadar.

Celebrating a Decade of EV Luxury

For 10 years, the Nikola Tesla EV Rally has promoted e-mobility, renewable energy, and sustainable travel while showcasing Croatia’s beauty. Participants from across Europe join annually, enjoying scenic drives and fun experiences.

Supported by the Croatian Tourist Board and various local governments, the rally helps brand Croatia as an “e-mobility friendly” destination.

Relax and Recharge

The rally isn’t just about racing; it’s also about relaxation and enjoying Croatia’s culture and nature. Day six is reserved as Relax Day, allowing participants to unwind on the beach or visit Kornati National Park by boat.

The following day, drivers will push their skills to the limit at Višnjik Sports Centre in Zadar before showcasing their cars at the waterfront promenade near the “Greeting to the Sun” light installation.

A Perfect Ending

On the last day, the rally visits Krka National Park, where a boat tour introduces participants to this natural wonder. The final stretch to Šibenik, known as the cradle of Croatian culture, is only 40 kilometers. At the iconic St. John’s Fortress, with panoramic views of the Dalmatian seascape, the award ceremony takes place. While the winner is celebrated, all participants take home cherished memories.
